Long Braided Hair.

Image
Braided hair is a convenient style to wear and it has been a go to style for many years. I will attach some photos of braids in hair form people all over the world and the benefits of having the option if your hair is at a length that you could create a braid or many. The most famous braid in history would have to be from the fairytale of Rapunzel and the tale of her magical hair being long enough to cascade down her castle retreat and retrieve herself a hot young prince. Creating braid waves is a favourite video online at the moment and leaving them in for 4 or 5 days can sometimes create waves that will last almost up to a week, not bad for no products or curling wands. I automatically think of the 14th 15th century when I think of women with very long hair and sometimes wearing it in a long braid or a smaller braid cascading down over the top of the remaining hair. Braid waves are very pretty when created and you can tell when someone has had their braids in for a couple of day...

Beautiful Curls.

Image
Curly hair is the most beautiful sight I can think of on another person. I especially like the hairstyles in particular of African American women although I am generalizing seem to take great pride in their appearance and having good hair is at the forefront of that. Jumbo Senegalese braids are one of my favourite hairstyles and although it is quite rare to see a lady with this type of style in my hometown of Perth there's a growing population of newly migrated citizens from East Africa and Western Africa who are getting their hair done in specialty African hairdressers, so it is a beautiful to see the growing diversity and beauty of such styles and haircuts starting to emerge. African American hair has so many different ways of styling depending on what style you may have. I'm very fond of micro braids cut into a bob length just above the shoulders.

Throwback (crimping hair)

Image
Crimped hair just screams out 1980's but crimped hair or beach waves I think should have a larger place as a hairstyle choice for girls for school or parties or for adults for parties and for any festivities. The benefit of creating beach waves or going old school and using a crimper is that you can have some waves, curls without having something permanent like a perm may do. Creating body and definition is one of the benefits of crimped hair or beach waves so if you have thin or fine hair it can be a good way to change things up and add some body and thickness to your fine hair. Sometimes hair that is fine and quite long can sit very flat down the back especially with all the straightening going on in these modern times also most of the hair products these days seem to add moisture to prevent any frizzy hair that was around in the 80's and 70's. NOOOOOOO! not the frizz. Not easy finding good 80's hair or crimped hair on the internet so forgive me for the pictu...

Bob cuts for 55's and over.

Image
It can sometimes not be an easy process trying to decide on a hairstyle or a change with a new cut when turning 55 or older. Having to decide on whether to let your once natural hair colour go away and let your now grey or silver hair come through. Sometimes not nice having harsh colour treatments every few months to maintain natural or whatever hair colour you are currently sporting. The photos attached show a couple examples of bob cuts on mature women and they look simply stunning. If you choose to let your hair go grey and run its course then one of these styles would compliment whatever you choose to do in regards to colour. I think a bob cut of any kind also will suit different face shapes as well, if you don't have high cheekbones and your face is a bit chubbier then the way you can add depth from your fringe and framing your face can sometimes draw attention away from any plumpness or extra neck rolls and I think it looks stunning especially on females of the larger...

The Wob ( The wavy bob cut )

Image
Have noticed the past couple of years the growing trend of celebrities getting the wavy bob or the wob as its referred to in some circles. I think its a lovely haircut and as you may be able to see from the stunning Kendall Jenner sporting a version of a wob just last year it definitely works. It is such a casual style suits a little black dress and just gives your look a bit of kinkiness and I prefer the wob when incorporated with the side part as opposed to the middle part just gives the style an added element verging on the peek a boo fringes from Veronica Lake era Hollywood. Without the waves put in the style goes back to a medium length bob cut so the waves add something for sure. Now Kendall's wob pictured above looks great but to be honest she could turn into a green slime monster tomorrow and she would find some way to pull that off as well so not the best example of the wavy bob but we gotta start somewhere. Jennifer Lawrence has gotten in on the action as ...

Classic bob vs Stacked bob.

Image
When it comes to haircuts for ladies I have a cut that always is in the forefront of my mind and that hairstyle is the bob cut. I like all styles of bob from inverted, asymmetric bob, stacked bob which is great for thick hair and the classic bob brought back to life by the great Vidal Sassoon some 40 years ago. The bob has great cultural significance as well because of the fact that in the roaring 20's ladies felt liberated after chopping off their long hair which had been the society norm for woman to have long hair since the renaissance. Back to the roaring 20's when women felt empowered to start thinking about a different haircut instead of the long haired women of the early 20th century and just like now after seeing Hollywood icons such as Louise Brooks showing off their sexy new short haircuts that were called the bob they couldn't get to the hairdressers quick enough to update their style. This style became very popular because of its practicality and bob cuts have s...

Long hair to stacked bob.

This young lady decided to get her long dark hair cut off into a stacked bob with a clippered nape. When cutting thick hair into a stacked or inverted bob cut the thick hair can become quite like a wedge cut once all the length has been taken off it can stop weighing the hair down therefore it will create a lot of body into the bob which personally I think looks wonderful but quite often it can be a bit much for the client when she sees the end result and the different contrast between the overlaying long hair with the shorter undercut and if you have light hair there is a good chance you will have a great contrast in colours between the shaved or trimmed sections with the longer hair on top.
